Summer in the Mount Kisco Library!

A plethora of possibilities!
Billions of brilliant books...
Many marvelous movies...
Much melodious music.....
Tons of Things to DO!......
IT'S SUMMER AT THE LIBRARY!

Hello everyone, from Maria and Deirdre!
We've been working really hard to make sure that summer in the library will be better than ever this year! The Summer Reading Game is truly awesome! You can win great prizes, just for reading. And, if you prefer, you can keep track of books on your phone, instead of using a computer or writing a paper list!

And remember, you can earn Community Service hours just by reading! If you'd like to be a teen reviewer, you can sign up online, give us a call (914 864-0130), or come talk to us.

Plus, there are lots of fun things to do at the library this Summer!  We're sure you'll find something you'll enjoy. Here's a list of programs especially for teens.

April in the Library

It looks as though spring is finally coming! The flowers in the library garden are coming up, the birds are singing -- and not just the birds! We've got some new programs coming up this month, plus new books, movies and music. Plus, we'll be keeping tried-and-true programs, and maybe even expanding some of them. Check it out!
  • We're going to be having a Wrock show during school vacation week. The show is free and open to everyone, and features quite a mix of music. NOTE: PG or PG 13. The performers are going to do kid-friendly versions of some songs.
    7:00 PM, Tuesday April 19
  • Movie: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
    Thursday, April 21 at 4:00
Come see the latest filming of C.S. Lewis's epic tales, starring Ben Barnes, Skandar Keynes, Georgie Henley, and the amazing Will Poulter -- the perfect Eustace! Bring your little sibs, if they're not too scared of sea monsters.
  • Arbor Day Art Workshop Come celebrate Arbor Day with Sue Carpenter, who will conduct a print making workshop in the Children's Program Room. No experience necessary, but wear an old T-shirt. The workshop will be on Saturday, April 30 from 2:00 to 3:30 Registration is required. Call 914-864-0130 to sign up.
  • Writing Games, A Free Writopia Writing Workshop, with Léna Roy. For Middle School Students. Saturday, May 7, 10:30 -- 12:00 Enrollment is limited and registration is required. Call 914-864-0130 to sign up.
If you haven't visited the library for a while, you'll see that things in the Teen Room have changed lately. We've installed a sound dome, which we plan to use for music programs. We've also moved the YA audiobooks into the teen room, and interfiled Fantasy and SF with the other fiction. Plus, there's a New Book display on the window facing the brook, and a Readalike display on the opposite wall. We think this will make it easier for everyone to find what they want -- let us know what you think.

Need to find a book? Check the catalog right here.
